I Might Be Brainless, But At Least My Hair Looks Cute…and a giveaway

I know, I know weird title.
But I’m brainless. I just had to share that.
I am so beyond mad at myself right now. I mean, seriously, I went to college, graduated with TWO degrees, recieved a teaching credential, taught elementary school, and managed to be a successful functioning adult for crying out loud. But it seems since I have had kids and quit my job, my brain has turned into mush.
Am I the only one who feels this way?
I forgot to do something VERY VERY important. I won’t bore you with the details as it probably won’t seem that big of a deal to you, but really, I am so sick of forgetting things. I need to start taking Ginko Biloba. Has anyone ever taken that? Please tell me it works?!?
Anyway, Brandon is patching up my mess as we speak. Surely someday I return to the smart, organized, on top of it Amy. I hope.
But for now I will be the sleep deprived, overworked and {if I do say so myself} loveable Amy. The mom who just spent the last 20 minutes kissing Jake’s foot after the chair fell on it and then covering the owey up with a Lightening McQueen bandaid. The mom who will spend her very exciting morning at Trader Joe’s trying to remember her grocery list.
I know you wish you were me. Come on, admit it. πŸ™‚
So on to the title of this post.
If I’m going to be this braindead, I might as well package it all up with some cute hair accessories. For Evy, that is, not for me. Cause I kinda look silly in hair accessories. They just aren’t my thing. But Evy, well, since she doesn’t have much hair, its all about the accessories.
So I wanted to show you a couple and end it by telling you about one of my awesome friend’s giveaway.
First…
I am so very honored about this:

That is a beautiful headband that my friend Prenice made to match my Mini Brilla hoodie. Prencie has an adorable accessory shop called Princynparis and she very kindly offered to make a matching headband to match my most popular hoodie. She even made a clip so mom could get one too! Head on over and check it out by clicking HERE.

And them my little girl…

Isn’t she precious? She is wearing an adorable headband by Dainty Button. Dainty Button is run by my friend Charity and, like Prencie, she makes the most adorable accessories. Evy is wearing THIS headband. Here is a side view of it. I love my kids. They are best ever.

And last but not least…
A GIVEAWAY!!

Aren’t these adorable? They are made by my VERY talented friend Jenni. Jenni is someone I met through the blogosphere and is such a good friend. I can’t tell you how great she is…she sends me BOXES of Lola’s clothes for Evy. I mean, seriously, isn’t that awesome?!?

Anyway, Jenni made these FABULOUS clips and is giving some away on her blog. Please stop on by and enter the contest by clicking HERE. I just hope I win! πŸ™‚

And in closing…if I am supposed to do something for you and I walk right up to you and carry on a conversation with you and not even mention the thing I am supposed to do for you{ahem, Danielle}, that’s a big clue:
I have forgotten.
So please, if you don’t mind, remind me. I’m really sorry. I don’t mean to forget.
And if you are one of those people who overdose on Ginko and have the memory of, of…sheesh I can’t even remember what animal has great memory!!! Anyway, if you are like that whatever the name is animal, please don’t tell me what I need to do to fix my problem. Due to the fact that I might break down in tears, only people with bad memories and sympathetic hearts may comment on this one. HA.
xoxo

  1. it's an elephant. an elephant never forgets. lol. :p i can't tell you how many times i have felt where you are now. sometimes it is hard to step back and see the person we once were at work in the mommmy we are today. it's not easy to see her in what has become an everyday mundane routine. but amy…you have to. or you will convince yourself you have faded to the point of actually doing so. take a step back and see…see that in the raising of your children is the patient student making her to her goals. see in the amazing way the business YOU have started having evolved from all the skills you acquired in your time earning those degrees. see the intelligence of your own being in the way your son speaks! my word amy he's brilliant! lol… and who does he spend his every waking moment with?? his very brilliant mommy. they grow in our likeness amy…so that alone shows how very special their mommy is. πŸ™‚ the forgetting is part of having to introduce into our lives the never ending things we wish to do and or give to those we love most in our lives. we juggle so much it stands to reason we'd forget. remember not to be so hard on yourself. just remember to see in everything around you the person you have always been. πŸ™‚ she's there. under all the chaos that is motherhood. she's there.

  2. hahaha, this post made me laugh! I, too am quite forgetful. I cannot tell you the times when I have forgotten to pay a very important bill and frantically remembered it right before some utility got shut off or our car insurance was cancelled. So don't feel bad. I think its a Mommy thing, lol. xoxo

  3. Honestly, this is the 3rd post b/c my blogger message keeps coming up saying could not complete request. It did….both times, so here is a 3rd attempt at posting. LOLYou are not alone. I sometimes have to remind myself before staying home with the kiddos I was a successful sales rep, and semi-good at multi-tasking.Then I became a stay at home mama. I think it is the lack of control over the day- events happen beyond our control & throw us off track. We forget things- Dr. appointments, things we were supposed to do for our friends, things we were supposed to do for our spouses….we are human. I am sure your friend will understand & forgive you. I finally had to get a planner for my purse & it is not foolproof!! Here is a hug through the screen, and know I too have no brains- and just today seems to be a backwards kind of day. Seriously, cannot seem to get on track. At least the sun is shining!! YAY!! The Princy & Paris headbands are TDF!! Have one and have ordered several. She is so talented! Gorgeous headbands for babies through adults.Jenni is my hero, the multi-tasking queen. Seriously I envy her. I bought a pattern a few months back to make hairflowers, and the pattern is still on my desktop. Finding the time??? She has made some gorgeous clippies!!! Would be so fabulous to win some. πŸ™‚

  4. Girl it totally comes with the territory, mom = mushy brain and memory loss!! It's downright embarrasing how much I forget!! I was suppose to try the Ginko stuff too but "forgot" what it was called!?! But now I will try and get me some:)Thank you for doing a post on my headband!! Got yours and Mande's in the mail today:)I plan on trying to make more that coordinate with the hoot and some others. To be continued…So at the end of the day as long as our kids have been kissed and hugged to death and fed and kept alive!! who cares what we forget;)

  5. Oh my Amy, can I ever relate!!! I tried making a to-do list, but I would lay it down somewhere only to forget where I put it. :(So then I decided I would type up my list and keep it on the computer, but then I would forget to open the document to read what I am suppose to do that day. :(I have a feeling I am going to have to resort back to the highschool way of writing a list on my hands, but I will probably just forget it's there and wash it right off. :(I really don't see a remedy to this forgetful stage in our lives. I guess we will just be forgetful together and then when our kids are grown maybe we will find the way back to having a good memory! πŸ™‚

  6. Ok hon you are just way to hard on yourself. You have soooo much on your plate. πŸ™‚ So take a sec, put your feet up, and smile when you think of how much you have accomplished. Oh I forgot lol I need to text you back πŸ™‚

  7. Love that headband by Prencie! I will definitely be buying some black fabric now! I wasn't sure how it was going to look – she sealed the deal for me!Thanks for your sweet words! Like I said before (I think…see, you aren't the only one that forgets) Lola couldn't be more proud that Evy gets all of her stuff! And by the way – LOVE the outfit you have on her in those pictures! Can't believe how big she is getting! And last – I think you need some mommy time, like time to go get a massage or a mani/pedi! Reward yourself, you have been working so hard!

  8. Ahhhhh – I am so with you on this! I feel like I pause and have to think now when someone asks me my name! Haha! Let's just blame it on the MAJOR sleep deprivation! LOVE LOVE LOVE the matching headband from Prencie!

  9. Thanks everyone!! I'm soooo glad I'm not alone πŸ™‚ Actually, Brandon patched up the problem beautifully and its actually not as bad as I thought it was. Not only am I a forgetful person, but when I realize I forgot something I am an worrier, haha. oh boy.xoxo love you guys.
